Jumper (it’s not a sweater)
Went to see Jumper last night and as I announced to fellows around me that I was going to see it a sluice of people (2 in total :D) gave warning that it had been given the thumbs down in most reviews (not including imdb.com which gave it good reviews), and like the bear head I am I ignored them - and quite rightly so because I actually enjoyed it.
As you may or may not know it’s about a guy who can ‘jump’ [teleport] from one place to another in the blink of an eye. Because of this great feat there is much robbing of banks to gain money, heaps of sight-seeing and the wooing of a lady - all by the young Darth Vadar (Hayden Christensen).
It’s a cute little concept and is certainly ‘food for thought’ in the day-dreaming department - ergo; it’ll leave you pondering on the concept for a few weeks afterwards. Moreover the film features some beautiful fly-by views of Rome and the Great Pyramids and have certainly bolstered my decision to visit these places.
I didn’t use the facilities of the VUE this time round, once bitten twice shy (see: Cinema VUE is Blind), and so opted for the closer Cineworld - which I did kinda regret in the end; the sound was anything but surround and the elevation of the floor was so slight that I could barely see over the chair in front of me let alone the person sitting in it.
Never mind, I got the gist of the film and was satisfied when I left the building, and I will be recommending it to anyone who asks about it. Boojah!
