Elevated Farms

Suggest that when farmland is replaced by industrialization, if unavoidable that is, make it so that each building covering a certain landmass must reproduce the farmland that it replaces on it’s roof.
This could mean a HUGE 6ft deep ‘baking’ tray be build atop the industrialized building and thus gives continuation to agriculture, wildlife and feelgood factor.
For obvious reasons plants/factories that output major pollutants should be left alone.
Oh and if you build one, don’t forget to attach an industrial lift to one edge so that yer farmer can get his combine harvester / horse & plough up and down.
Adendum: I realise now that this practice, in theory, in currently in use, it’s called Terra Forming and many companies do it for various reasons including recreation. However, buy using these places for agriculture makes money and sense as the soil, once infertile, can be removed and replaced with ‘factory replenished’ stuff instead. Oh I love ecology!
